Handling The Hail Damage Colorado Springs

By Michael Edwards

One of the most damaging occurrence in the history of Colorado Springs is the hailstorm that hit the area on July twenty eighth, two thousand and sixteen. Hail damage Colorado Springs was approximated to be a three hundred and sixty two million dollars loss. Based on the insurance statistics close to eighty four thousand five hundred and home owner insurance claim has been filed to date.

Individuals were required to stay away from the road by the police officers due to the piling up of snow in many roads in that area. The storm occurred close to nine o clock in the evening and had major negative effects on homes, vehicles and vegetation around. The people who were stranded as result had to be saved by firefighters because there were no police cruises present.

Flooding was also part of the storm experienced and several drivers were trapped by the rapidly rising waters. An example is where passengers including a baby were trapped by fast moving water in Pikes Peak Avenue and had to be saved. Aside from that, the waters destroyed fences and houses causing maximum loss.

This catastrophe was so different from any other that had occurred initially since it affected most of areas in whole state and caused destruction. The estimates of damage was quite few and did not include the commercial ones such as destruction of office buildings, vehicles and the public property too. An addition to these expenses constituted of the windows and roofs damaged that needed some form of repair.

For this reason, Colorado has been ranked the second in the having the most hail destruction claims. This is after the leading one Texas which is estimated to have one hundred and forty five thousand nine hundred homeowner and auto insurance claims. The catastrophe experienced on the twenty eighth of July was characterized with golf and baseball-sized hail that destroyed property.

Most the individuals who had damaged vehicles were able to get back on track due to the presence of insurance companies that offered claims. The insurance companies had an offer of handling the dents minus the painting unless a dent could not be repaired. Thus several people had their cars replaced back to the former state.

Several dent repair companies availed themselves in town after the hailstorm came to an end. The firms worked hand in hand with body shops in repairing of the destroyed vehicles in the area. A more affordable dent repair firm meant more profits for the body shop in addition to the discounts provided by the insurance firm.

The work of repairing the rooftops was very stressful since there was a lot to be done within a short span of time. Additionally, presence of less roofing materials resulted in some homeowners having to wait for longer. The building companies halted their advertisement so as to avoid attracting more customers than they could handle and thus offer poor quality services. Despite the work being strenuous, profits could be noted on the insurance claims and roofing repairs.
