How To Tell If The Pipes In Your Sewer Are Damaged With A Plumber Las Vegas

By Carlene Eriksson

Sewer systems are one of those things that most homeowners don't think about. After all, you are just happy that everything goes down the drain and you never have to see it again. Unfortunately, things can go wrong with your sewer system, and damaged pipes are a common repair for any plumber Las Vegas.

Since repairing the sewage line is critical for preventing the spread of illness, you should always be alert for these signs that your pipe has sustained damage that can only be fixed by your plumber.

Knowing how old your pipes are can tell you how likely they are to fail. If your pipes are cast iron, you can expect them to live up to 25 or 30 years. Watch out if they're older than that.

First signs are a slow drain or a clogged toilet with only a little bit of damage. You might smell a bad smell coming from the drain, and clogs may become more frequent. If you've gotten rid of obvious blockage and things still drain slowly, make sure to get the system checked to ensure there's no deeper problem.

You won't necessarily be able to see obviously where the system is broken. In the wall is where one break might occur. If these breaks occur in a scarcely used room, the walls can grow so moist that they can even grow dangerous forms of mold. An awful stench sometimes accompanies such leaks.

Discovering multiple issues at once is also common. You may be referred to a plumber by your pest control technician since rodents and cockroaches love hitching a ride through sewer lines. Since it only takes a small crack for them to fit, you can quickly begin to see many uninvited guests coming up through your drains. Sighting a cockroach climbing through your shower drain is not just unsightly, it is a sign to call for a sewage line inspection.
