Dorms are cheap, but the downside for this would be the lack of privacy since you have to share a room with another person. The good thing with this is being able to save money on food since food is provided.

The contract dates. Be clear to them if how long would you want the contract to last. There are some university dorms which asks students to move during Christmas and Easter. Avoid these options to not end up in getting your stuffs thrown outside by the owner. Most apartments on the other hand needs you to stay with them for at least a year.

Here is what you need to know. A deposit of one month or two months has to be paid before you can move in. Do not worry, the deposited money will be returned to you once you move out from the apartment. For apartments, the utility cost is separated and you must deal that on your own, while dorms usually include this on the monthly rent already.

Watch out for additional fees added. It is most likely for accommodation to separate the fees for parking, laundry services, and more. So, if you have a car, then expect another fee. Most importantly, secure the safety of the place by making sure that there are CCTV cameras all over and a security personnel is always present.
